HOUSTON: CRAFT PARTY EVENT HOST - SHORT-TERM / GIG WORK

Panache is looking for an outgoing, reliable person in the Houston area to help with an upcoming corporate craft event and potentially future events as well.

This is a paid gig, not a traditional part-time job. Most events are only a few hours, primarily evenings/weekends, and we are looking for someone who would be interested in picking up occasional event work.

This event is a Christmas ornament decorating bar at a corporate event. For this upcoming event, there is some additional prep work involved. Because the event is coming up quickly, the person hired will need to:

• Pick up craft supplies from local stores such as Michaels
• Receive Amazon packages
• Help paint / prepare example ornaments before the event
• Transport supplies to the event
• Help set up, host and clean up at the event

You will be compensated for prep/pickup time as well as event time. Mileage/gas for required supply runs will also be covered.

You do not need to be a professional artist or crafter. In fact, we're much more interested in personality and reliability.

You should be:

• Comfortable doing basic crafts and using common craft tools
• Able to follow simple instructions and figure things out independently
• Comfortable with a hot glue gun, paint, scissors, basic decorating supplies, etc.
• Outgoing and comfortable talking to a room full of people
• Friendly, encouraging and able to help guests who aren't "craft people"
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to drive around Houston for occasional supply pickups
• Comfortable working independently when given a shopping/prep list

You don't have to be an amazing artist. You just need to be crafty enough to know which end of the paintbrush to use.

The most important part of the job is helping guests have a fun experience. We're looking for someone who can encourage people, answer basic questions, demonstrate the project and keep the energy up - this is a party, not an art class.

Date: Thursday, September 17
Event time: 3-6:30 pm
Location: North Houston
Prep/pickup: Some prep work will need to happen before the event and able to receive amazon packages.

Pay: $25/hour for prep, pickups and event work + mileage for required supply runs.
